Uprising

Uprising is a docufiction about the aftermath of the 1981 Brixton Uprising (known as the Brixton Riots.) Set in Brixton, one week after the April Uprising, the film is made up of interviews with locals to the Brixton area who were in someway involved in the events. The film explores what the feelings surrounding race, police brutality, and government were immediately after an event which triggered a lot of change on racial discrimination. The interviews were somewhat scripted, based on research and conversations with people who were in living in Brixton at this time.
